Insurance company MSIG Malaysia has launched its Chinese New Year ad targeted at Malaysian drivers this holiday season. Working in collaboration with social enterprise Plus Community Partnership, the ad features a grandfather asking his grandson to collect a precious parcel for him.To ensure the parcel arrives safe and sound, he reminds his grandson to get his tyres checked before the trip, stay alert and drive safely. He also told his grandson not to play with his phone or speed while driving to avoid any risk or damage to the special parcel. When the grandson arrives at his grandfather’s with the parcel, he asks what is in the parcel that is so valuable. At this point, the grandfather reveals that the parcel was important because it brought his grandson home safely. The video had garnered 74,984 views on MSIG's YouTube channel at the time of writing. The ad was launched as part of its commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goal 3, which aims to ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages, and the company's aim to reduce road traffic accidents. A+M has reached out to MSIG for additional information.Chua Seck Guan, CEO of MSIG Malaysia, said the company produced this ad as a reminder to Malaysians that their loved ones are waiting, especially during this festive season."Chinese New Year is always one of the busiest times on the roads and unfortunately accidents do happen. We hope [the ad] helps people be more mindful and careful on the roads and contributes to improving Malaysia’s road safety record," he added.Read more:3 ways retailers can continue its sales push this Chinese New YearSingtel ushers in Chinese New Year with a touch of humour4 quick digital marketing hacks for marketers ahead of Chinese New Year
