MR D.I.Y. has launched its first-ever loyalty programme, introducing a family-first rewards system that allows up to five household members to pool points and unlock benefits together.

Called "MR.DIY Club", the free programme lets members earn one point for every RM1 spent, with points redeemable for cash vouchers. Members will also receive birthday rewards, exclusive event invitations and access to workshops.

At the heart of the programme is a family account feature, enabling up to five family members to link their accounts and combine points under a shared balance. Members also earn one "Bag" for every RM20 spent, which can be redeemed for exclusive experiences and rewards. Bags accumulated across linked family accounts count towards unlocking benefits faster.

To mark the launch, new members will receive an instant welcome reward of 400 points and five times the usual points on purchases made during their birthday month.

Alongside the programme, MR D.I.Y. has named Malaysian celebrity couple Shaheizy Sam and Syatilla Melvin, collectively known as SamTilla, as ambassadors for "MR.DIY Club". According to the retailer, the pair were selected to reflect the programme's family-oriented positioning.

The launch also includes roadshows at Mid Valley Megamall and MyTOWN Shopping Centre until 26 July, where shoppers can sign up for the programme, complete activities and stand a chance to win exclusive merchandise.

Beyond rewarding customers, MR D.I.Y. said the programme will also provide insights into changing customer behaviours and preferences, enabling the retailer to personalise future offerings and improve its products, benefits and shopping experience.

Alex Goh, senior vice president of marketing at MR D.I.Y., said the programme was developed in response to the retailer's growing base of family shoppers.

"For more than 20 years, Malaysians have come to MR D.I.Y. for the things they need, whether it is an urgent supply of batteries, supplies for a school project, tools for home repair or everyday household essentials.

"Many of our customers shop with us as families, so we wanted to create a programme that rewards not only the individual shopper, but the whole household. MR.DIY Club allows families to earn together, enjoy greater value and share experiences beyond the checkout counter," he said.

The launch builds on MR D.I.Y.'s broader efforts to strengthen customer loyalty and reinforce its value proposition. Earlier in May, the retailer rolled out its nationwide "Harga tetap sama" ("Prices maintained the same") initiative, pledging to keep prices stable across a wide range of everyday essentials despite ongoing cost-of-living pressures.

The campaign spans categories such as household items, stationery, batteries, and food and beverages, underscoring the brand's long-standing "Always Low Prices" promise. Together with the introduction of MR.DIY Club, the retailer is deepening its focus on delivering greater value through both price stability and customer rewards.
