Raphael Lim, former head of marketing at the luxury tall-ship Royal Albatross, has joined Motorway Group to spearhead and lead its marketing initiatives. Lim (pictured) is also responsible for leading the direction in Motorway Group's plans to consolidate the branding across its 13 businesses in the automotive sector as well as unlock valuable brand partnership opportunities. He is joining the group as group marketing head and this position is a newly crafted role for the Singapore market.
Lim has experience in the automotive sector having worked at SgCarMart as head of marketing in 2018. He was also previously at Four Media as digital project director. Most recently at Royal Albatross, he led the pivot of the place from a luxury venue to an exclusive dining at sea during the pandemic.
Lim said that the group is looking to expand the departments with new hires. Recently, it opened up a position for a Korean Native speaking market representative for car rentals. Lim will be reporting to the CEO of Motorway, Michael Lim.
Motorway Group currently handles luxury leasing, auto insurance, and loans. Some of the brands under Motorway include Motorway Automotive, Motorway Car Care Centre, Lion City Rental, and Automobil Leasing. The company currently holds car distribution for Swedish hypercar Koenigsegg as well as Ssangyong in Singapore. The company also holds Lion City Rental under their umbrella of brands owning a huge share of the private hire market. At the same time, Motorway Luxe has Singapore’s luxury automotive fleets for exotics and high-performance vehicles.
Lim said he is thankful for this opportunity to lead the brand in such a pivotal time when the company is expanding. "There is enormous growth potential for Motorway to be the one-stop automotive solution within the Singapore market with all our businesses already standing well on their own with a strong leadership team. I look to impart my marketing knowledge and connections to take Motorway to the next level," he added.
