Monash University MY's marketing lead Ooi Lay Tin exits after 7 years

Ooi Lay Tin (pictured), deputy director, marketing at Monash University Malaysia, has left her role after seven years with the institution.

In a LinkedIn post, Ooi said that it was "time to move on to a more purposeful future" and she is open to new opportunities and areas that she might not have previously considered.

"I have learnt so much from my marketing, recruitment, media and IT/e-solutions colleagues at Monash Australia. From trending topics such as the ageing population, digital health, the gig economy, to personalised medicines for Asians, talking to my academic colleagues has enriched my learning journey," Ooi said. A+M has reached out to Monash for comment.

During her time at Monash, she led and managed the university's digital marketing strategies, and was also responsible for brand and research positioning. Malaysia is currently the third largest campus for Monash University based in Australia. Prior to Monash, Ooi was with Taylor's College for four years as senior manager - marketing, PR, social, sales and enrollment. She also worked at ACCA and International Medical University.

Ooi has more than 20 years of experience spearheading marketing initiatives for education brands, and is experienced in varied areas of marketing, branding, student recruitment, public and media relations, alumni engagement, community engagement and business development.
