Japanese sports equipment and sportswear brand Mizuno has appointed Paprika Global to handle its creative and digital duties. This is the first time the sportswear brand has appointed an agency in Asia Pacific.
A spokesperson for Mizuno has confirmed the appointment to Marketing.
The agency will be tasked to oversee the strategy for the markets of Hong Kong, Myanmar, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Philippines, India, Vietnam and New Zealand, which it manages out of its Singapore headquarters. The pitch was called earlier in the year.
“We’re pleased to appoint Paprika Global, and are looking forward to launch upcoming campaigns leading up to next year’s SEA Games, taking place right here in Singapore,” said the spokesperson. He declined to comment on the worth of the account.
The move comes following the brand making Singapore its regional headquarters earlier this year. Mizuno’s regional office in Singapore is led by Kiyoshi Tatani, president of Mizuno Singapore. Tatani earlier told Marketing that being in Singapore allows the brand to better promote its products and services to customers and “giving them a closer touch and feel of the brand”.
