MINI Malaysia has unveiled a series of videos in celebration of its 60th anniversary, which features three MINIacs who tell the tale of their first MINI love. Each MINIac explains how the premium compact vehicles have played a meaningful role in their lives. The series aims to highlight how MINI has made a mark in automotive history over its 60-year global presence. The first video features Kelvin Kok, a Malaysian tattoo artist and family man who recounts the first time he was introduced to a MINI after hearing the then MINI tagline: Go with Your Gut. Three years on, the Kok family are owners of the MINI Clubman and a fully restored 1996 MINI Kensington. Kok is drawn to the engine’s roar and the family he has found in the MINI owners’ community. Kok also relates MINI’s long-revelled heritage with the classic Mandarin saying: Never forget your roots. In the second video, Wan Muqarram Sidek recounts moments spent with his late father restoring the custom-built car, an Austin MINI pickup. SSidek lives by the words,“A man of class is a man who takes care of classic cars”. He named his pickup Papa Mooqs in tribute to his father. The third video highlights Lee Siew Hon who believes that his MINI GP was built to be driven and he takes his MINI out as much as he can – up mountain roads on weekends and to work on weekdays as opposed to keeping it parked at home. Hon is not just in love with the performance in his MINI GP, he also loves the heritage of the MINI brand and the story behind it, making his relationship with his MINI extra special.MINI encourages consumers to share their own MINI moments by tagging it on Facebook and Instagram and using the hashtag #MINILOVESTORIES.
