Mindshare has promoted US CEO Adam Gerhart to global CEO, effective January 2021, replacing Nick Emery who was booted out after a "clear breach of conduct". Gerhart (pictured) will oversee Mindshare's strategy and operations across 86 countries, and the development of nearly 10,000 employees. His vision for the agency encompasses data and insights that influence wider brand opportunities, such as product development, as well as sales and marketing.
Gerhart will serve on GroupM's global leadership team and maintains his Mindshare US CEO role until a successor is named. During his time as US CEO, Gerhart led media innovations in areas such as neuroscience, investment, voice commerce, and audio strategies. He joined Mindshare in 2003 as media planner, according to his LinkedIn before heading over to Mediavest (now known as Spark Foundry) for about a year. He then returned to Mindshare in 2005 as international planning supervisor, according to his LinkedIn and rose through the ranks thereafter. early in his Mindshare tenure, he was a founding member of the agency's US communications planning group, a specialist team dedicated to bringing multi-disciplinary thinking to clients’ communications needs. Gerhart was appointed US CEO in 2016 and over the years, Mindshare said he has helped build and grow its client portfolio across a range of global brands.
