Microsoft has appointed Rukmani Subramaniam (pictured) as its new chief marketing and operations officer for Malaysia. In this role, Subramaniam will lead the marketing and operations functions of the subsidiary. She will begin work upon completion of the work authorisation process.
Reporting to Carlos Lacerda, managing director of Microsoft Malaysia, she will also play a key leadership role in directing and managing the overall business, marketing strategy, and execution in Malaysia. In addition, she will oversee product marketing groups, marketing communications, business operations, enterprise marketing, public relations and customer and partner experience efforts.
Subramaniam has over 15 years of experience in the IT industry filling key roles in strategy, business development, product management and marketing. She spent the last ten years at Microsoft’s corporate headquarters in Redmond where she worked with the mergers and acquistitions team. She has also worked at the APAC headquarters in Singapore. Prior to Microsoft, Subramaniam was with PricewaterhouseCoopers, India advising IT clients on mergers and acquisitions.
