Michael Xia has returned to Y&R Guangzhou as chief executive officer, after having spent over a year running his own consultancy.
Well known in China’s advertising scene, Xia started with Y&R Guangzhou in 2004 as general manager, before being promoted to CEO in 2009, leading Y&R to attract big-name clients including Changhong, China Southern Airlines, Midea, Guang Fa Bank, Arawana. Guiyang IFC, Ping An and Scotts Miracle-Gro.
“Y&R Guangzhou is renowned as one of Southern China’s strongest agencies, having built its reputation on great work for numerous major brands. It’s good to be back at the agency I’ve called home for over a decade and we look forward to continued success,” commented Xia.

Meanwhile, Luis da Rosa has joined Y&R Beijing as general manager. Da Rosa joined Y&R in 2013 as the general manager of Y&R Guangzhou, prior to that he was director of the Brand Communications Department at sporting goods giant Li Ning.
Da Rosa has been in brand marketing for over 22 years, in China for a decade, and before that with multinational agencies in his native Hong Kong.
