Melbourne convention bureau ramps up

Australia – Ahead of the Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME) to be held at the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre from 18-19 February 2014, the Melbourne Convention Bureau (MCB) is actively seeking to attract MICE dollars.

According to Karen Bolinger, CEO, Melbourne convention bureau, the “Melbourne Values You” is MCB’s latest business development tool to target and attract new corporate and incentive business from across the globe.

The programme has been launched across all international markets and is expected to generate interest across Asia, where 80% of all corporate/incentive business clients come from.

“MCB partnered with more than 30 of its members in the categories of hotels, venues, attractions and team building companies to offer almost 80 complimentary services or discounts for incentive groups, designed to make booking and planning an event in Melbourne not only seamless, but cost effective,” Bolinger said.

MCB is actively targeting corporate and incentive agents and corporate marketers to increase its share in Melbourne’s MICE industry.

Its clients range from pharmaceutical companies to insurance, automotive, IT and direct selling industries.
