Media Chinese International Limited Group has launched Power-up Pocketimes, a news and current affairs audiovisual channel which will become the first integrated Chinese language online video platform in the country.
Pocketimes will provide the viewers with a broader range of content and also allow advertising clients to access new avenues to promote their products and services.
According to Tan Sri Datuk Sir Tiong Hiew King, executive chairman of Media Chinese International Limited and Sin Chew Media Corporation Berhad, the new platform would incorporate media integration technology that will include digital product placement and interactive hotspots.
Advertisers can opt to sponsor content related to their businesses in a more web-friendly environment, allowing the viewers to see their brands and commercial messages while enjoying shows. The new platform will also help promote the concept of online video marketing, allowing Malaysian businesses to harness the merger of TV advertising and internet marketing tools.
Tiong added that Power-up Pocketimes was primarily constructed upon the foundation of the existing Pocketimes channel. It will also now include more content offerings such as entertainment, virtual reality shows and premium movies from China thanks to cross-border content collaboration.
Pocketimes has registered a monthly viewership of four million since its beginning in November 2014.
