McDonald’s and DDB Group Hong Kong have developed an activation campaign to kick-start McDonald’s Hong Kong’s 40th anniversary.
Under the theme of “Party Up”, McDonald’s showed its different side, by taking the brand to "a whole new level".
Last week the fast food giant threw a surprise birthday party for a customer at Sky 100, featuring celebrity MCs Donald and Jim, celebrity DJ Sam Lee, Jan Lamb, Jun Kung and music group Dear Jane.
Guests wore only black and white, draped in neon bracelets, and special packaging was produced from black cups to baby McFries packs, alcohol was served with McDonald’s partner Heineken.
The event was covered by CR Radio and East Touch magazine, which extended its coverage to Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
“We at McDonald’s Hong Kong have always been about surprising and delighting our customers – that’s what we do best. So what better way to start off our 40th anniversary than by taking this to the next level,” said Yvonne Tang, senior director, marketing, McDonald’s Hong Kong.
