Luzanne Chong is exiting HSBC Life Singapore after serving as chief commercial officer for just over a year, bringing to a close a career chapter that saw her lead commercialisation, strategic planning, brand, marketing, customer experience, digital and data initiatives for the insurer.
Chong announced her departure in a LinkedIn post, describing her time at HSBC Life and in Singapore as “the most enriching professional chapter” of her career. She said the decision comes as her family pursues a long-held dream of moving overseas.
During her time at HSBC Life, Chong worked alongside CEO Harpreet Bindra and the executive committee, with her remit spanning the commercial and customer-facing functions of the business. In her post, she highlighted the past year as a period of significant change, alongside efforts to grow the business and strengthen its high-net-worth franchise.

She also pointed to the launch of new solutions and propositions designed to support clients across wealth, health and legacy, as well as the role of the wider Commercial Office team in building the business.
Chong said she leaves with confidence in the people and potential of HSBC Life Singapore, while thanking colleagues, agency partners, consultants and business partners for the support during her tenure.
Prior to joining HSBC Life, Chong spent more than five years at Prudential Assurance Company Singapore, where she held the role of head of customer experience and also served as head of high-net-worth strategic programmes. Her work there spanned customer segment strategy, proposition development, customer acquisition and retention, campaign management, brand and customer experience.
She previously spent more than three years as head of customer experience at FWD Insurance, where she led customer experience strategy, digital product development, customer insights and communications. Among her work was the development of FWD’s first AI chatbot and digital onboarding, claims and renewal journeys across multiple products.
Chong began her career at DBS, spending more than 11 years across customer service, operations and customer experience roles. She eventually became vice president of customer and employee experience for regional consumer banking operations, leading customer journey transformation initiatives across APAC.

Chong’s departure comes amid continued movement among senior marketing and customer experience leaders across Singapore’s insurance sector. In August, Singlife’s group head of brand, communications and marketing Debra Soon exited the insurer after five years.
Meanwhile, Manulife promoted Sonali Verma to chief brand and experience officer, Asia, expanding her remit across brand, customer experience and content strategy in nine Asian markets. The insurer also appointed Joy Joy Ann Concepcion as chief marketing officer of Manulife Philippines earlier this year.
In July 2025, Prudential Singapore appointed Toni Fung as chief customer and marketing officer, replacing Theng Kiat Goh, who stepped down after seven years with the insurer.
