The Marketing Excellence Awards Malaysia has released its highly anticipated shortlist for its 13th edition, showcasing the nation's most groundbreaking campaigns and brightest talents.
The awards continue to recognise the resilience and innovation of Malaysian marketers, even amidst a dynamic landscape.
Embracing the industry's evolution, two new categories, "Excellence in AI Powered Storytelling" and "Excellence in Multilingual Marketing", have been introduced this year, reflecting the growing importance of technology and diversity in marketing strategies. These additions bring the total number of categories to 45, offering even more opportunities for marketers to shine.
A distinguished panel of 30 client-side marketing professionals have meticulously evaluated the entries, ensuring a fair and rigorous selection process.
"The Marketing Excellence Award entrants represent the pinnacle of strategic and creative achievement within the industry. Their work not only celebrates innovative campaigns and impressive results but also highlights the impact of marketing on brand building, customer engagement, and overall business growth. They inspire and set a high standard for others to follow," said Fariz Yusof, head of customer marketing at Lotus’s Malaysia.
"The entries have demonstrated remarkable creativity and a deep understanding of the evolving consumer mindset. It’s exciting to see how brands are pushing boundaries, resonating with today’s consumers, and translating insights into impactful, results-driven campaigns," added Ravena Hundal, head of marketing at Kind Kones.
"Each entry stood as a success story in its own right. It was a challenge to select the best from so many first-of-their-kind campaigns that truly pushed the envelope," said Pearly Ong, vice president of group communications, editorial and intranet, Alliance Bank Malaysia "Congratulations to all participants, as their work showcased continuous innovation and creativity in achieving success."
"The entrants have truly pushed the boundaries of brand storytelling, creating unforgettable experiences that not only engage but also transform audiences," said Nachiappan M.T. Arasu, VP of marketing at Express Rail Link. "In today’s competitive landscape, it’s exciting to see visionaries redefining what it means to connect emotionally with consumers. Their campaigns prove that real impact comes from emotional connections, not just transactions. I look forward to seeing how these groundbreaking ideas will shape the future of marketing."
"I’m heartened by the diversity of the entries, which featured both established and emerging brands alike. It’s inspiring to see brands - regardless of budget size, boldly extending their personality to create meaningful emotional connections with their audiences," added Ben Foo, group chief marketing officer at Taylor’s Higher Education. "The talent within our marketing and agency spheres is clearly emerging, and it’s exciting to witness such creativity and through-the-line thinking."
"The diversity and depth of the submissions were remarkable. From traditional media campaigns to digital and experiential strategies, the level of thought and innovation was exceptional," said Christina Vanugopal, director of marketing and communications, Le Méridien Kuala Lumpur. "The video submissions, in particular, displayed elevated creativity and storytelling, going beyond conventional approaches to engage audiences emotionally while addressing some of society’s deepest concerns. It was also encouraging to see smaller companies making a significant impact with their PR campaigns, leveraging unique narratives and strategic communication to compete. Their efforts brought them into the spotlight and set an inspiring example for others."
