Mark Coad expands post-IPG portfolio with Hatched role

Mark Coad has taken on a second advisory role since departing IPG Mediabrands Australia, joining independent media agency Hatched as strategic advisor.

The move follows Coad’s appointment earlier this year as partner and senior advisor at consultancy 24 Hour Business Plan, further building out his portfolio of board and consultancy roles.

At Hatched, Coad will help guide the rollout of the agency’s AI and automation offering, support business development and mentor its leadership team as the independent shop continues its growth trajectory.

Coad brings decades of leadership experience, having previously led agencies including OMD Australia, PHD and IPG Mediabrands, alongside advisory roles with organisations including ADMA.

“The opportunity to support the team at Hatched is an exciting one,” Coad said.

“I bring experience and knowledge to guide business planning, new product development, as well as improved ways of working. Now is the time for agencies like Hatched, and I plan to do everything I can to help accelerate the continued growth trajectory of the business.”

Hatched said the appointment comes as it pushes deeper into AI-led operational transformation, aimed at reducing low-value repetitive tasks while sharpening strategic delivery.
