Mannings helps Hongkongers stay pain-free with health truck tour

Hong Kong's beauty chain Mannings is rolling out a “Bone and muscle health truck” tour to offer citizens free bone and muscle health assessments and consultation for 18 consecutive days around 18 districts in Hong Kong.

Done in collaboration with marketing agency L Concept Communications, this initiative is spurred by a recent survey from Ipsos, a global market research and consulting firm, which revealed that nearly 70% of Hong Kong people suffer from pain issues. However, most people mistakenly regard pain occurrence as a standalone problem, to be addressed directly and then forgotten.

Mannings' spokesperson told MARKETING-INTERACTIVE that the initiative targets the general public, especially those with muscle or joint pain, offering personalised pain relief and prevention solutions. Through its health truck tour, Mannings is committed to elevating public awareness and promoting the "pain relief medication + health supplement 1+1" solution to help break the pain cycle.

From 13 to 30 May, the tour will take place across various districts in Hong Kong such as Causeway Bay, Mong Kok, Tsuen Wan, Kwai Tsing, Wan Chai, amongst others. It will be led by the Mannings’ professional health team, offering complimentary bone and muscle health assessments including body composition analysis, hand grip and bone density index tests, followed by a personal health consultation, as a one-stop service. The truck will operate from 11am to 1pm, and 2pm to 7pm each day.

The 15-minute session will be carried out under the supervision of a Mannings’ registered pharmacist or dietitian, and generate an instant health assessment report, downloadable by simply scanning the QR code. The Mannings' professional health team will then provide a personal consultation and health advice based on the individual assessment results, helping the participant to clearly understand the root cause of their pain and detect potential joint and muscle pain issues at an early stage.

Outside the truck, an interactive information board on the theme of "pain relief and health supplement 1+1" will offer tips on how to both tackle the symptoms of pain and alleviate pain in the long run.

Upon completing the session, each participant will receive a "pain relief and health supplement 1+1" gift pack worth more than HK$700, containing pain relief and prevention trial products from major wellness brands along with coupons to help beat pain.

To maximise visibility, the campaign is being promoted through both print and online channels, according to the spokesperson. Its ROI is measured by participant turnout, tour engagement rates, consultation feedback, and sales generated from subsequent purchases linked to the initiative.

Additionally, Mannings aims to encourage the public to actively pay attention to their health needs and supplement balanced nutrition for pain prevention in the long run. Starting from 9 May, customers who purchase designated pain relief products at selected Mannings stores in Hong Kong will exclusively receive a set of “Pain relief and health supplement 1+1” coupon leaflets and sample pain relief or prevention products, with a total value of more than HK$600.

Most recently, Mannings gave away 3,000 "total Derma solution kits" each worth over HK$500 to Hongkongers, with a brand new skincare bar making its way around town stationed by skincare ambassadors.

On 12 and 13 April, Mannings set up a "Derma skincare bar" across various districts of Hong Kong including Causeway Bay, Mong Kok, Tsim Sha Tsui and Tuen Mun, where a team of skincare ambassadors conducted a questionnaire on skin health with participants to help them understand if they have sensitive skin, prematurely aging skin, mature skin or damaged skin; which problems their skin type is prone to have; and which derma products suit their needs in order to customise a perfect skin repair and restoration routine.
