MAGGI Malaysia has unveiled a new reality TV series “Resipi Berani (Brave Recipes) MAGGI” as part of the Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani MAGGI (brave enough women mentor programme) campaign. The series will commence on 14 July and will be broadcasted weekly, featuring contestants going through a series of culinary and business-entrepreneurial challenges set by three MAGGI mentors.

According to MAGGI, the six-episode series complements the campaign’s learning and empowerment journey, as it has provided skills and leadership enhancement opportunities for the show’s contestants while showcasing their transformative journey towards achieving success. One of the main goals of the campaign is to inspire more women to step outside their comfort zone to try something new - embracing the "Tak Kenal, Tak Cinta" (don’t know, don’t love) spirit.

In the series Resipi Berani MAGGI, the mentees will receive a series of challenges in business acumen, digital and cooking skills and feedback mentorship sessions with the three MAGGI mentors. The list of mentors include brand ambassador of MAGGI Datin Paduka Eina Azman; director, producer, actress and owner of The Dim Sum Place, Sheila Rusly; and recipient of Young Entrepreneur Icon 2019 and owner of My Mum’s Bakery, Anne Idris.

The eight finalists featured in the TV series Resipi Berani MAGGI are home-based food business owners. At the end of the series, MAGGI will award the winner with a seed capital of about RM8,000 and an eight-week mentorship programme with Anne. It is also rewarding the runner-ups with seed capital of about RM5,000 each.

According to MAGGI, close to 1,000 women participated in the Bengkel Online Wanita Cukup Berani MAGGI (women’s brave enough online workshop), which was conducted in partnership with Google’s Women’s Will programme last year. Eight of the mentees were selected as finalists in the TV series based on their resilience, courage and determination to succeed in their fledgling home-based food businesses.

Geetha Balakrishna, business executive officer of MAGGI, Nestlé Malaysia said that the launch of Resipi Berani MAGGI marks the end of the Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani MAGGI 2020. “The series’ main objective is to highlight the transformation and emotional journey of the mentees, which will inspire other women to take that first step to try something new and bring a positive change for themselves and also their loved ones,” said Balakrishna. She also added that MAGGI hopes to be able to support more women through Program Mentor Wanita Cukup Berani MAGGI Chapter 2021.

Meanwhile, MAGGI's parent company Nestlé recently called for a media review in Singapore and Malaysia. Zenith is the incumbent and the winning agency will be announced in the third quarter.
