Communications and marketing firm Louken group has acquired a majority stake in Four Media, a specialised cross-border digital marketing agency, which has presence in China. Four Media, said the group in an exclusive statement to Marketing, has developed deep capability to help businesses break into the China market.
Four Media will retain its name and will operate and collaborate within Louken Group Network of companies. Four Media has been established since 2005 and provides a full spectrum of marketing from digital, social, traditional to integrated solutions. It prides itself in being at the forefront of the rapidly changing media scene.It currently has a team of 20.
Though this acquisition, Louken hopes to strengthen its service offering to help brands to navigate cross border marketing in the digital world. Four Media would also be able to leverage on Louken’s expertise to strengthen its offering in China, to help brands to win consumers mindshare in the large Chinese market.
The move will see Kong Fern Chiang, founder and CEO of Four Media, working closely with Luke Lim, group CEO of Louken Group. According to a statement from Louken, there will be no change in structure post the acquisition – just a shift in outlook and priority and a focus on the Chinese market. It added that there are no conflicting clients as a result of the merger but rather, many complementary services are now added. The group declined to comment on the value of the acquisition.
“The priority is to bring aslouken branding expertise into Chinese market to serve the Chinese brands. Obviously the market is huge, riding on the fact that Chinese Enterprise are upping their playing field via branding (both online and offline). The core strategy is to now help brands to navigate brands in china digital realms,” Lim added.
Currently, brands under the Louken Group consist of Giraffe Consulting, Clickr media, Altiply, aslouken, Louken Academy amongst others. Louken also is an equity partner of ebeltoft group, alliance global Retail Consulting group, which is operating in 24 European and American markets.
