Loob Holding, the parent company behind Tealive and Bask Bear, has appointed Sammy Chan (pictured) as marketing director.
In this role, Chan will drive the brand and marketing initiatives for both Tealive and Bask Bear brands across Malaysia, with a focus on strengthening brand identity in international markets and supporting the company’s growth strategy.
In conversation with A+M, Chan said that she's excited to be part of a company that is always innovating and celebrating Malaysian pride and local identity.

“This is our unique edge in a sea of global players locally while boldly expanding into international markets," said Chan.
"I was rallied by the ambitions of the founders of Loob during my interview, and they have the ability and resource to drive the business forward. Marketing team in Loob are a pivotal function in the business, from product to every customer touchpoint, and being a part of it is incredibly fulfilling," she added.
Prior to joining Loob Holding, Chan was the head of marketing at SEEK where she drove the strategic marketing direction in both B2C and B2B segments in the local market, according to her LinkedIn. She also oversaw communication executions to achieve business performance metrics.
Chan also held the roles of head of brand and loyalty at Tesco and head of digital integration at Astro Radio. Before working with these brands, she spent six years working in agencies, including boutique digital agency Chatter Chimpz and Naga DDB Tribal.
With Loob Holding, Chan will work together with its founders to achieve the company's vision of becoming Malaysia's most beloved and authentic lifestyle tea brand, inspiring a sense of local pride and community through innovative flavours, sustainable practices and exceptional experiences, while establishing itself as a leading innovator in the global beverage industry.
“We’ve got some bold plans ahead. We’re going to change how the world drinks tea, bringing it to life through product innovation and creative storytelling,” said Chan.
Chan's appointment comes just as Loob Holding expands Tealive across the globe. The brand expanded into India earlier in February this year, in partnership with leading Indian Quick Service Restaurant (QSR) operator Devyani International Limited (DIL). It also penetrated into the United Arab Emirates (UAE) in October last year. At the time, Loo said that UAE is an exciting market with a dynamic food and beverage landscape.
Most recently, the brand teased that it will be opening in Singapore in June 2025 in an Instagram post on 23 April.
