Lion & Lion elevates Sumit Ramchandani to regional role, names new SG MD

Lion & Lion has promoted Sumit Ramchandani (pictured left) as head of Southeast Asia for the agency. He was previously managing director for the agency’s Singapore office, a role he first took on when Lion & Lion established its Singapore office in 2015. This saw the agency handling clients such as IKEA, Hermo and SingSaver. Currently, Lion & Lion has offices in Malaysia, Indonesia and Hong Kong.

Before Lion & Lion, Ramchandani was regional digital business director at Leo Burnett Singapore, and has also held stints as director of marketing strategy at eBay Enterprise, and director of digital strategy at Macy’s. He has also worked at ELM Resources and IDS Sheers in the United States. He has over 15 years of experience in digital marketing and eCommerce across APAC and the SEA region, his LinkedIn profile said.

Taking over as managing director for Singapore is Kartika Guerrero (pictured right), previously client director, a role she held since November last year when she joined the agency. She reports to Ramchandani in her new capacity as managing director.

She held two separate stints as business director and account director at OgilvyOne Worldwide Indonesia in 2015 and 2010 respectively. She was also international online marketing manager at Sophie Paris, a social shopping platform. During her time at Sophie Paris, where she was tasked with building and testing digital capabilities of the platform, including email marketing, social media, online advertising and eCRM.

Prior to Sophie Paris, Guerrero was also account director at GroupM Indonesia, where she was in charge of account management and project development. This was from 2011 to 2013. She has also worked at Netbooster and Asian Journal USA.

“I am truly excited to embark on a new journey with Lion & Lion as the Managing Director in Singapore, and to continue to help clients grow their businesses. I am a strong believer that the success of our clients and our team is key to our success in Singapore,” Guerrero said.

“Having Guerrero on-board is a great addition to the management team. She brings with her a strong set of skills, and I have been very pleased with Guerrero’s trajectory. I am looking forward to seeing Guerrero grow into her new role, as she continues to build and nurture Lion & Lion’s business in Singapore,” Ramchandani said.

Most recently, Virgin Active Fitness Clubs appointed Lion & Lion as its digital media agency in Singapore following a pitch held in November 2017 for a year. The partnership sees support for both day-to-day support on the brand’s digital operations, as well as several of its ongoing campaigns and projects. In addition, Lion & Lion will be responsible to grow the brand’s online presence through both search ad social media.

The agency also bagged Zouk as a client last year, which sees it handling digital media duties for ZoukOut in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand and Australia, following a pitch. The agency was chosen for its “strategic thinking and media expertise,” the press statement read at the time.
