Linda Lee, APAC communications director at LinkedIn, has left the company after five and a half years. Lee (pictured) started her career with the company in 2016 as head of communications for Southeast Asia and more recently, has been responsible for building and leading the company's comms team across the APAC region.

"We deeply appreciate Linda’s many contributions to the company and wish her all the best and much success in her future endeavours. While we search for a new director of communications for APAC, Justin Bates, LinkedIn’s EMEA communications director will manage APAC communications in the interim," LinkedIn's spokesperson said.

Prior to joining LinkedIn, Lee was director and practice leader, corporate and finance, at MSLGROUP. During her time there, Lee started a successful intrapreneurial venture within MSLGROUP as the founding leader of the corporate practice, which grew by more than 350% over the first 18 months with an entrepreneurial team of four people. Under the corporate practice, she worked directly with C-level executives from digital transformation to new customer experience, and positioned markets for companies entering emerging markets such as China, Indonesia, and Myanmar, her LinkedIn said. She also consulted on organisational change, reputation management, stakeholder engagement, social engagement, sustainability, issues management, and crisis communications. Lee also previously held the roles of associate director and senior account manager during her time at MSLGROUP.

Lee also held marketing-related roles such as account manager and account supervisor at Weber Shandwick and Banyan Trees Hotels and Resorts. In a LinkedIn post, Lee said that she had come to love comms even more during her time at LinkedIn. "It made me unlearn and learn more about leadership and people during this time. It reminded me how important and impactful my community has been for me. It will be hard to top this experience - but I know there's something greater and bigger out there for me," she added.

Separately, LinkedIn shut down its Stories feature less than a year after it was introduced in June 2020. According to LinkedIn, any image or video ads that were scheduled to run in between Stories will instead be shared to the LinkedIn feed after the end of this month. However, a promoted or sponsored story from a user's page in Campaign Manager will not appear on the LinkedIn feed. Instead, it needs to be re-created in Campaign Manager as an image or a video ad. This news also comes nearly a month after Twitter officially phased out its Fleets function
