Property developer KSK Land has appointed Dian Pasquinal Kaur to the newly created role of VP of digital content and social media. She reports to group CEO of KSK Group, Joanne Kua, and oversees the content creation and social media strategies of KSK Land. Kaur (pictured) is also responsible for increasing the brand awareness, marketing activities and sales efforts of the company.
Kaur told A+M that she took up this role to break out of the publishing bubble and step outside of her comfort zone. According to her, she has been on the lifestyle publishing scene for 17 years and was most recently head of digital at Burda International for two years. Although it has been a great journey, Kaur said it was time to "learn-unlearn-relearn". "You learn the most when you’re thrown into the deep end, so here I am. I was recommended to the CEO by a work connection," she added.
According to Kaur, her experience at luxury lifestyle titles is a great help for her current role, especially when it comes to quickly adapting to and having an understanding of consumer behaviour. "Nothing is lost, from the people I’ve interviewed, the launches I’ve attended, and the products/food I’ve reviewed to the hotels I’ve experienced; all these experiences come in useful in many aspects of the current role in luxury property," she explained.
Seeing how the company embraces the agile work culture, Kaur believes she will not only be managing content and social media. In fact, she believes her role and talent would expand into other areas such as event planning and sales, among others. "Ultimately, my vision for this role would be to uphold the company’s boundary-pushing identity while celebrating everything it has to offer," Kaur told A+M.
At Burda, Kaur led a team of digital editors to create and execute social media strategies for all digital titles under BurdaLuxury Malaysia. She was also accountable for bridging communications between the local office, regional management and the print and digital teams. Under her leadership, Kaur increased traffic and the social media following by more than 100% for Prestige Malaysia and created the #PrestigeBizTalk video series, said her LinkedIn.
Before Burda, Kaur held several editor roles in media companies, including digital editor in Tatler Malaysia. At Tatler Malaysia, Kaur was responsible for planning, creating, and editing content across the website and social media platforms. Kaur's other roles included assisting the editorial staff with story ideas, conceptualising client’s shoots and articles, social media posts, and video productions, among others. She was also the senior writer in Unreserved with Redberry Media Group and deputy editor for Prestige Malaysia when it was under the Catcha Group.
