Krom Bank extends partnership with Mambu to drive next phase of digital banking growth

Krom Bank has renewed its multi-year partnership with Mambu, the global SaaS cloud banking platform, as part of its strategy to scale Indonesia’s fast-growing digital banking ecosystem. The five-year extension follows a successful collaboration that powered the launch of the Krom digital banking app in 2024.

The move reinforces Krom’s long-term ambition to reach 20 million accounts by 2030 while supporting Indonesia’s broader push for financial inclusion. The digital bank - part of the Kredivo Group - continues to focus on serving the country’s unbanked and underbanked population, which still accounts for around 75% of Indonesians.

Under the renewed agreement, Mambu’s composable core banking platform will support Krom’s plans to introduce new deposit and loan offerings, integrate generative AI capabilities, and strengthen its cloud infrastructure on Amazon Web Services (AWS).

“Mambu has proven to be a powerful partner from day one. Our renewed partnership is a key step in Krom’s long-term strategy to build a scalable, innovative, and inclusive digital bank for Indonesians,” said Anton Hermawan, president director of Krom Bank. “With Mambu’s cloud-native core and the flexibility it provides, we’ve been able to launch high-impact products faster, stay compliant, and deliver a seamless experience to our customers.”

Since selecting Mambu in 2022, Krom has grown into one of Indonesia’s fastest-rising digital banks, offering current accounts, savings, and term deposits to retail and MSME customers. Its cloud-first architecture - built on Mambu’s platform and AWS - has enabled the bank to bring high-yield, fully digital services to younger and underserved consumers with speed and regulatory confidence.

For Mambu, the partnership renewal strengthens its presence in the Asia-Pacific region, where it works with both digital-native and established banks to accelerate modernisation and innovation.

“Krom Bank is a standout example of what’s possible when bold vision meets modern technology,” said David Becker, managing director and Head of APAC Sales at Mambu. “Its rapid growth and strong financial performance are a testament to how a cloud-native, composable core like Mambu can support scale and agility in even the most complex markets. We’re proud to renew our partnership and continue supporting Krom’s mission to expand access to high-quality digital banking in Indonesia.”

Founded in 2011, Mambu provides a modular cloud banking platform that supports core banking, deposits, lending, payments, and Islamic banking. More than 260 customers in over 65 countries, including Western Union, Commonwealth Bank of Australia, N26, and Bank Islam, use Mambu’s composable technology to design and launch financial products quickly and at scale.

Meanwhile, Krom Bank was established in 1957 and formerly known as Bank Bisnis Internasional. It was rebranded in 2022 after being acquired by the Kredivo Group, and launched its digital banking app in 2023 to serve retail and MSME customers.
