GO Communications has appointed Kristine Lim as its new communications director, adding a seasoned marketing and communications leader to its senior management team. In her role, Lim will provide strategic oversight for the agency’s blue-chip clients, supporting growth while strengthening GO’s position across specialised communications sectors.

Lim brings nearly two decades of experience spanning tourism, hospitality, and destination marketing. She has held senior positions at Genting Malaysia, Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels, SuperPark Malaysia, and the Singapore Tourism Board, gaining expertise in integrated marketing, media relations, and stakeholder management across both public and private sectors.

Most recently at Genting Malaysia, Lim served as vice president of resort marketing, overseeing brand and marketing strategies for Resorts World Genting, Resorts World Awana, Resorts World Kijal, and Resorts World Langkawi. She played a key role in the launch and global positioning of Genting SkyWorlds Theme Park, managing agency partnerships, international market strategies, and aligning brand messaging across digital, PR, and experiential platforms. Lim was at Genting for nearly five years.

During her six-year tenure at Themed Attractions Resorts & Hotels, Lim contributed to the pre-opening of Desaru Coast, one of Malaysia’s largest integrated resorts, collaborating with international brands including Marriott, Hard Rock International, and The Els Club by Ernie Els. Her work in destination branding and global market development helped establish Desaru Coast as a premier tourism destination.

Lim also had a near six-year stint with Singapore Tourism Board as a manager, developing and implementing marketing campaigns for Malaysia. She also spent a short four months at Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur as its head of marketing and promotions.

GO Communications’ CEO Peter de Kretser said, Lim’s appointment brings both experience and passion to the agency. “With her wealth of experience across multiple sectors and mature outlook on our evolving industry, she brings unique skillsets and a significant dose of passion to the agency,” he said. “With her on board, we are excited to continue delivering the high level of strategic and creative thinking our supportive client portfolio has come to expect.”

Lim, who has also served as a judge for A+M’s Agency of the Year, MARKies, and Marketing Excellence Awards, expressed enthusiasm for joining GO. “What excites me most is GO’s strong creative DNA and its people-first culture. I believe great communications start with great collaboration. Where strategy, creativity, and passion meet. I’m confident we can elevate our clients’ stories and continue shaping GO into one of Malaysia’s most trusted and innovative communications partners,” she said.

In June, GO Communications bagged another client win after Irama Hotel Kuala Lumpur, an up-and-coming hospitality landmark in the capital, appointed the agency to oversee aspects of public relations and brand communications duties ahead of the hotel's opening in the fourth quarter of 2025. As part of the appointment, GO will manage a full suite of services, including public relations, branding, creative communications, and social media management, in the lead-up to the hotel’s launch and beyond.

More recently, Fresh Events Asia appointed GO Communications to spearhead the communications strategy for The Sky Race, a first-of-its-kind tower running event set to take place on 30 August 2025 at Kuala Lumpur’s iconic Merdeka 118. The event is expected to be one of the country’s most anticipated sporting moments of the year, aligning with Malaysia’s Merdeka Day celebrations.
