KFC Malaysia is offering consumers a free piece of chicken when they order via the KFC app on 6 July in conjunction with National Fried Chicken Day.
In a statement to A+M, KFC’s spokesperson said it is imperative for the brand to offer a seamless and rewarding experience to consumers throughout their journey with the brand. As such, having a digital promotion will allow KFC to strengthen its digital and mobile presence, while it continues to excite and build on brand love with innovations and values. KFC will mainly leverage on digital, specifically Facebook and Instagram, as well as ad supported by Google and IPG Mediabrand’s Cadreon.
The spokesperson declined to reveal the monetary amount KFC is investing in the initiative, adding that the objective of the promotion is not to drive direct sales but rather to engage and reward its loyal consumers on National Fried Chicken Day.
“Throughout the years, we are blessed with massive numbers of avid followers. As the nation’s chicken champion, we wanted to appreciate and reward our KFC fans in the simplest and most authentic manner,” the spokesperson said.
KFC has always been eager to reward its loyal consumers. In April, it brought back its popcorn chicken with a hot and spicy twist. KFC selected a group of super fans who were identified via social listening, and surprised them with boxes of custom-made, personalised hot and spicy popcorn chicken. This was done in a bid to reward consumers and drum up word of mouth conversations.
