Katharine Zhou named MD for Ipsos Singapore

Ipsos, a global market research agency has appointed Katharine Zhou (pictured) as the managing director for Ipsos in Singapore, with effect from 2 July 2018. Zhou succeeds Joseph Chua, who will take on a new leadership role for Ipsos in APAC with responsibility to grow the healthcare and automotive businesses.

Zhou will report directly to Christophe Cambournac, Ipsos CEO AMEA.  Prior to this new appointment, Zhou was the APAC managing director for the innovation and marketing research specialist unit at Ipsos. She started her career with Ipsos in Singapore in 2003 before relocating to China in 2007 and returned to Singapore in 2012 where she first led the APAC Innovation business.

Cambournac said, “Zhou has been instrumental in Ipsos’ growth in Asia Pacific in the recent years. She has demonstrated success as both a business and people leader with her tireless dedication to clients and the people she works with. I am confident that Katharine and the team will continue the momentum of the business established under Joseph Chua’s leadership.”

Zhou added, “In my 15 years with Ipsos, I have held many different roles across the region. But I would say this new role as managing director of Ipsos in Singapore is undoubtedly the most exciting one. The market research industry is changing, right along with our clients’. The dynamism of this digital era is changing our society and lives of consumers dramatically too. Singapore is an important gateway market for us with massive opportunities and many significant challenges.”

Former managing director, Joseph Chua will take on a new leadership role for Ipsos in APAC, looking after the Healthcare and Automotive service lines, as well as Quality Management from 1 July 2018. Chua successfully led the Ipsos Healthcare business in Singapore from 2009 to 2015 prior to taking on the country manager’s role.
