Yum! Brands' Kate Yu joins Jollibee as CMO

Jollibee Foods Corporation (JFC) has appointed Kate Yu (pictured) as its chief marketing officer, effective in April 2024. She is based in the Philippines.

Yu is experienced in transforming brands, empowering teams, and managing profit and loss (P&L). Prior to joining Jollibee, Yu served as chief marketing officer at Yum! Brands, the owner of KFC and Pizza Hut, according to her LinkedIn. She was in charge with the remit of delivering a relevant, easy, and distinctive customer experience across 10 countries in partnership with franchisees.

Before her time at Yum! Brands, Yu had helmed the role of vice president of client capability at Accenture, where she focused on driving digital transformation for multinational corporations in sectors such as FMCG, F&B, pharma, and travel/tourism, to improve marketing effectiveness, CX, data monetisation, and lift enterprise-wide marketing capability, according to her LinkedIn. 

Before that, Yu was the founder and strategic business consultant at Growiry, where focused on helping companies grow through data-driven marketing and customer/ retail analytics. She also has experience in FMCG and retail, including more than four years as senior global marketing director for hair at Unilever and over 10 years at Procter & Gamble.

Back in April, Jollibee reportedly boosted investment in Titan Dining II (Titan) with a SG$90 million capital commitment. The investment is part of JFC's plans to expand in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, according to PhilStar

The investment would reportedly be made through JFC's wholly-owned subsidiary, Jollibee Worldwide. Jollibee Worldwide (JWPL) will then infuse the capital in Titan, which has a size of SG$100 million.
