JWT hires ex Ogilvy staffJWT Singapore has hired Rachel Koh (pictured) as senior advertising executive. Koh has had a wide range of experience across the industry from traditional creative to senior digital management roles. She has worked at companies such as Batey and Standard Singapore and McCann Erickson. Most recently she was with OgilvyOne and also held the role of head of interactive at Ogilvy subsidiary RedWorks.Mindef calls for PR pitchMinistry of Defence (Mindef) has called for an agency to manage its public relations and online engagement for Total Defence 2013 campaign. The tender closes on 28 August 2012. Previously, Hill & Knowlton helmed campaigns for Total Defence from 2009 to 2011.Meanwhile, Nanyang Technological University has also called a pitch looking for an agency to handle its creative, production & media placements of print ads for the Master of Science (marketing) programme.TianPo appoints PR agencySingapore jewellery brand TianPo Jewellery has appointed antics@play to grow its market share through PR. antics@play will provide strategic PR counsel, media liaison and identify brand-building opportunities for TianPo and the international brands exclusively retailed by TianPo. According to Irene Goh, marketing manager of TianPo, the brand will be using PR to further build brand understanding and affinity with Singaporean women. The contract is slated for a year.NDP goes digitalNational Day Parade Committee has teamed up with SMRT to produce a motion-sensor programme that is set up at the Orchard Station to let commuters activate fireworks simply by standing in front of the screen. This is the first time the NDP Committee team has included an outdoor digital initiative in its programme. A mobile commerce wall with National Day value deals that commuters can scan to get discounts is placed alongside the motion-sensor wall. The motion sensor aspect of the campaign was developed by Singapore-based digital new media ad company Rock Nano.
