Filipino fast-food chain Jollibee has introduced accessibility features such as braille and large texts on its menus for the blind and visually impaired.

Brian Granada, a Filipino content creator, shared the new features on his Facebook, which include photos of customers who are visually impaired community using braille menus. Featuring large fonts and braille, the new menus allow the blind and visually impaired customers to order food on their own.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Jollibee for further information.

Furthermore, according to a video published by a channel named “Sandlex”, some visually impaired customers shared their thoughts on Jollibee’s new features. One of the customers said the new features not only benefit them from ordering food, but also promote to the public that visually impaired people belong to the society and they can be as independent as the non-visually impaired.

The move has drawn positive sentiments with some thanking the brand for introducing the features while some said Philippines is slowly moving to a more inclusive country, a check by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE saw.

Jollibee is not the first brand to launch braille menu for visually impaired customers. Back in February this year, Starbucks Coffee partnered with the National Braille Press to offer large-print menus and braille menus for visually impaired customers who may not be able to view menus that are placed above the baristas. The features aim to offer the visually impaired the same customer experience as the non-visually impaired.
