Eastin Hotel Kuala Lumpur, a long-standing landmark in the Klang Valley's hospitality scene, is set to undergo a significant transformation as it rebrands into the Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel.
The move, which marks a strategic collaboration between TSM Global and Marriott International, is expected to usher in a new era for the property, aligning it with the globally recognised Marriott Hotels brand.
The rebranding, slated for completion in December 2025, follows a signed hotel management agreement between the two parties, and reflects Marriott’s continued expansion in Malaysia. Once renovations are completed by December 2026, the 393-room hotel will officially join Marriott’s portfolio, bringing with it refreshed interiors, signature brand offerings, and access to the Marriott Bonvoy travel programme.

In an exclusive response to A+M, a Marriott International spokesperson shared that while the Eastin brand has earned strong recognition over the years among business and leisure travellers in Petaling Jaya, the rebrand offers a chance to elevate the guest experience.
We see this rebrand as an exciting opportunity to elevate the property.
"This is by aligning it with the globally recognised standards of the Marriott Hotels brand under Marriott International. Guests will now benefit from the Marriott Bonvoy travel programme, which connects them to a global network of nearly 9,500 properties," the spokesperson said.
“Through Marriott Bonvoy, both returning and new guests will gain access to exclusive member benefits and the opportunity to earn and redeem points,” they added. The team is confident that the refreshed guest experience, upgraded facilities, and affiliation with Marriott’s trusted name will bring greater value. They also emphasised the importance of clear communication throughout the rebranding process to ensure a seamless stay.
According to Marriott, TSM Global remains as the owner of the hotel, which will now be operated under the Marriott International portfolio. Existing staff will undergo brand training to adapt to Marriott’s hallmark service approach, while continuing to deliver the local warmth that Eastin has long been known for.
The phased renovation will include a complete redesign of the lobby area and select guest rooms, in addition to introducing new features such as the exclusive M Club Lounge for Elite and Club members, a Chinese restaurant, and a Kids Club to cater to families.
George Varughese, market vice president for Malaysia at Marriott International, told A+M: "The conversion of Eastin Kuala Lumpur into Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel reflects our commitment to growing the Marriott Hotels brand in key urban centres across Malaysia. Working closely with TSM Global, we look forward to reintroducing this landmark property with refreshed offerings that align with the brand’s modern design ethos and elevated guest experience."
We are not just changing the signage — we are revitalising an iconic property with new energy and enhanced services.
He added, "The addition of signature spaces like the M Club Lounge and curated dining concepts are part of our promise to deliver exceptional stays for both business and leisure travellers. With the support of TSM Global, we’re creating a destination that embodies both the familiar comfort of a beloved location and the aspirational experience associated with the Marriott name."
The rebranding is also expected to improve visibility and accessibility for the hotel, which is strategically located along the SPRINT Highway and within walking distance of the Phileo Damansara MRT station. It’s just 15 minutes from KL Sentral and has access to the North–South Expressway, making it a convenient stop for travellers heading to and from Johor, Melaka, Perak, Penang, and KLIA.
Marriott currently operates over 60 properties in Malaysia across 20 brands and continues to grow its presence in key locations across the country. The rebranding of Eastin into Petaling Jaya Marriott Hotel is the latest in its ongoing efforts to meet rising demand for global hospitality standards in Malaysian urban markets.
The 5-star Eastin Hotel Petaling Jaya boasts 388 rooms, and has been around since 1998. Although the building was originally developed and managed by CP Group, it was reportedly sold to TSM Global for about RM200 million, the Edge reported. The publication quoted sources in June this year, that the change of hands would involve the hotel reopening under the Marriott brand.
Last month, the hotel had also put up an announcement on its social platforms that it would be undergoing renovation works beginning 10 June to enhance its facilities, but will remain operational.
