Indonesia-based media and entertainment technology company IDN has officially acquired M Bloc Group, in a move aimed at strengthening its foothold in culture, entertainment, and youth communities.

Under the acquisition, M Bloc Group’s portfolio – including M Bloc Space, Pos Bloc Jakarta, Pos Bloc Surabaya, Pos Bloc Medan, and Lokananta Bloc Solo – will operate under a unified platform called IDN Bloc, while retaining their existing individual identities.

The deal marks a significant expansion of IDN’s ecosystem beyond digital media and into physical creative spaces, as the company looks to connect more deeply with Millennial and Gen Z audiences through cultural experiences, community engagement, and entertainment-driven activations.

Founded in 2014 by brothers Winston Utomo and William Utomo, IDN currently operates across digital media, live streaming, entertainment, and the creator economy, reaching more than 70 million monthly active users.

The company said the integration is expected to create stronger collaboration opportunities across its wider ecosystem, including with JKT48, Saweria, Boss Creator (Pestapora) and IDN Event, while further bridging its digital network with offline cultural spaces.

“We are delighted to officially welcome M Bloc Group into the IDN ecosystem. Culture and entertainment are powerful languages of the young generation, and M Bloc Group has spent years building physical homes where these languages come alive,” said Winston Utomo, co-founder and CEO of IDN.

“By bringing IDN Bloc into our ecosystem, we are unlocking a new chapter where culture, creativity, community, and entertainment converge into shared experiences that move the next generation of Indonesians forward. Our long-term vision is to build a media and entertainment technology company that reflects the spirit of the young generation and actively shapes the cultural identity of Indonesia – and IDN Bloc will be at the heart of that journey,” he added.

William Utomo, co-founder and chief operating officer of IDN, said the acquisition would allow the company to accelerate collaborations across content, events, creators, and communities.

“We are incredibly excited about the synergy this acquisition unlocks across the entire IDN ecosystem. IDN Bloc gives us a vibrant physical canvas to bring our brands, communities, and partners closer to the young generation in everyday life,” he said.

“From content and events to creator and community collaborations, the operational alignment between IDN and M Bloc Group will allow us to move faster, create together, and deliver experiences unlike ever before.”

Meanwhile, Handoko Hendroyono, co-founder of M Bloc Group, described the integration as an opportunity to expand the impact of the communities M Bloc has built over the years.

“By uniting our community strength with IDN’s nationwide reach and comprehensive ecosystem, we are shaping a future where creative spaces become a defining cultural force for the next generation of Indonesians,” he said.

Jimmy Saputro, another co-founder of M Bloc Group, added that the partnership would help scale M Bloc’s vision of building interconnected creative spaces throughout Indonesia.

“We have always believed in the power of building living spaces that pulse with the energy of creativity-driven communities,” he said. “Together with IDN, we are excited to carry this vision further, igniting a new generation of creators across Indonesia and weaving a sustainable network of creative spaces that connects the nation from west to east.”
