Celebrating International Women's Day, the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong (HKEX) has launched an online campaign showcasing its efforts on gender equality by presenting stories of its female team members.
The one-week campaign has released a short video series featuring four female HKEX colleagues. Themes of the campaign include gender equality, women in STEM, the art of balancing work and life with kids, and the development of millennial women in the workplace.
Launched on 10 March, the first video featured Bonnie Chan, head of listing at HKEX, who describes why diversity in the boardroom was essential for businesses to thrive, and how HKEX promoted diversity in the marketplace.
Additionally, on 9 March, the HKEX, - together with 73 stock exchanges around the world - held a “Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" event before the afternoon trading session. The event marked the sixth consecutive year of this global collaboration and the fifth year for HKEX participating in it.
