Swiss throat lozenge brand Ricola (利口樂) has bidden farewell to its discontinued product, Ricola Pearls with a farewell campaign, inviting consumers to share their special moments with the product.

Also known as "Our Ricola Pearls commemorative notes" (我们的 Ricola 橡皮珠纪念册), the campaign kicked off with several image teasers on Instagram announcing the discontinuation of Ricola Pearls.

While Ricola has not disclosed the reason for this discontinuing product, it also leveraged the product's popularity to release a Father's Day campaign, which highlights the hardworking personality of fathers and they deserve to enjoy some quality time with the soothing and refreshing Ricola Pearls.

As part of the campaign, the brand also invited users to leave a message on its social platforms by completing the unfinished sentences bidding farewell to Ricola Pearls, including "Leave a memory in the commemorative note..."(紀念冊中留紀念) and "Happily say goodbye, for our friendship shall never die..." (開開心心 say goodbye,我倆友誼 never die). Participants can choose one of them and complete the sentence in the comment sections.

Running from 13 June to 17 July, the campaign will select the 10 most creative participants to win a pure gold Ricola Pearl ornament, while 100 others with the highest engagement will receive a "森之相印" canvas bag.

Meanwhile, Ricola has urged consumers to purchase remaining stock in the posts. "Everyone can seize the last chance to buy a few more boxes of Pearls as souvenirs."

As of now, the Instagram post has garnered over 280 likes and 370 shares, with many respondents expressing nostalgia for the product, according to a check by MARKETING-INTERACTIVE.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to Ricola for further information.
