Hong Kong Disneyland Resort (HKDL) is kicking off a region-wide campaign to celebrate the park's 20th anniversary across Asia, including themed trains in the city and Taipei, immersive display in Wuhan and a meet-and-greet event in the Philippines.
The celebration kicked off on 21 June, when Ngong Ping 360 launched 11 themed cable cars, each inspired by beloved Disney friends and their stories, as a teaser for everyone to get to know more about the 11 floats in HKDL’s largest-ever parade “Friendtastic!".
Ngong Ping Village also displays 20th anniversary-themed installations featuring Mickey and Friends, as well as Duffy and Friends figurines, inviting guests to receive a warm welcome to HKDL’s Most Magical Party of All.

To lure more visitors to join the celebration, HKDL also extended its giant magical party invitation to every arriving visitor at Hong Kong International Airport starting 23 June. A three-metre-tall Mickey installation, dressed in his brand-new 20th Anniversary party outfit, will make a surprise appearance, ready to snap photos with guests.
To amplify the campaign, trains across major MTR lines, including the Airport Express, Tsuen Wan Line, East Rail Line, and Disneyland Resort Line will be transformed into 20th anniversary themed trains, carrying guests towards the party from 26 June.

At Hong Kong Station, one of the city’s major transit hubs, passengers will first experience the party atmosphere along the escalator corridors. Before boarding the themed Disneyland Resort Line train and upon arriving at Sunny Bay Station, Mickey and friends will pop up to surprise visitors.
Starting 27 June, the party spirit will sweep through the bustling streets of Causeway Bay, with a giant billboard being displayed at Causeway Bay's Island Beverley Mall. From late July, the excitement extends to the newly opened Kai Tak Sports Park. Guests will be able to interact with Mickey’s animation through augmented reality (AR) filters. Starting in early August, the Kai Tak Stadium will even light up with dazzling projections. Mickey and Friends will also make a surprise visit in August to this new Hong Kong landmark.

Furthermore, HKDL has also teamed up with brands such as Chow Tai Fook, Kee Wah, and FUJIFILM to release limited-edition merchandises, including gold coins, celebratory snacks, and themed cameras. CHARGESPOT's power banks, Rituals' body care sets, and Invengo's collectible medallions and passports will also be available as part of the anniversary lineup.
From 28 June to 26 July, visitors can redeem a complimentary 20th anniversary mini party hat with a single-day ticket. Hong Kong residents can also take advantage of the extended "Double the fun" offer until 31 July, allowing two visits for the price of one, alongside exclusive shopping and dining vouchers.
Beyond Hong Kong, the anniversary campaign has been amplified via out-of-home advertising in Taipei, which saw Zhongshan Metro Station being transformed into a 20th-anniversary-themed zone on 7 May.
While in mainland China, the festivities began on 31 May with an exhibition at Wuhan’s MixC Wuchang, showcasing Duffy and Friends figurines in party attire alongside an interactive Mickey-themed RSVP counter. The tour will continue to Guangzhou’s Teemall on 5 July, featuring a "Castle of magical dreams" installation and photo opportunities with Disney characters. Shenzhen’s Talent Park will join the celebrations on 19 July with a drone and lighting spectacle projecting beloved Disney figures.
The celebrations will arrive in the Philippines in late June, with Mickey Mouse greeting guests at the Disney Store in SM Mall of Asia and personally delivering party invitations to fans.
