The Hong Kong government has dished out around HK$16 million to hire local digital agencies Migather and Tango Digital to help promote "Brand Hong Kong" in Mainland China and internationally, following a pitch back in March.

According to the government gazette published on 25 July, the Information Services Department (ISD) has approved two contracts of HK$8.02 million and HK$7.65 million respectively, to hire Tango and Migather.

Tango is required to undertake a digital media promotion including planning, booking and advertisement coordination to promote “Brand Hong Kong” in the international markets for a period of 12 months, commencing on 1 August 2025 and expiring on 31 July 2026.

This is the second year the Hong Kong-based agency got recruited by the authorities to promote Brand HK internationally. Founded in 2020, Tango describes itself as a digital studio focusing on social listening, media and branding on its LinkedIn. Its clients include brands such as K11, Manulife, AIA and Greater Bay Area Homeland Youth Community Foundation.

On the other hand, this is the first time Migather gets to work with Brand Hong Kong. It is hired to undertake a digital media promotion including planning, booking and advertisement coordination to promote Brand Hong Kong in the mainland China market for the same period.

Established in 2018, the Hong Kong-based agency aims to provide one-stop advertising services from creative to performance. It strives to help clients drive business success by creating remarkable experiences through different touch points.

MARKETING-INTERACTIVE has reached out to the ISD, Tango Digital and Migather for more information.
