The Havas Sports & Entertainment division (HS&E) has officially launched in Singapore with its first client win. The agency will be managing the ASEAN Paragames 2015 where it will handle all of the event’s social engagement activities during the Paralympics Games.
The team will be led by Melvin Lim (pictured), chief executive officer, Singapore & Malaysia at Havas Media who has over a decade of experience in managing and leveraging sponsorships across sports and entertainment. His portfolio of sponsorship management include events such as Tiger Cup, Barclays Premier League Broadcast Rights, Formula One and PGA Golf. Lim will be tasked to oversee the growth of this brand throughout ASEAN.
Lim told Marketing that the collective team of 10 under his leadership will handle sports and entertainment marketing, social, digital and content marketing. He added that the agency has another eight clients in the pipeline.
“We are elated to be launching Havas Sports & Entertainment in Singapore as we know there is a fast-growing need for clients to find additional avenues to engage positively with their target audience. To many client brands, such avenues are in the sports, music and art arenas,” said Lim. He added that today, there is only so much advertising can do in growing affinity with audiences and where advertising drops off.
