Gushcloud acquires marketing agency DSTNCT

Gushcloud International’s marketing unit, Gushcloud Marketing Group has acquired integrated marketing agency, DSTNCT.

The merger between both agencies aims to build deeper integrated marketing and influencer marketing strategies together. Through this move, Gushcloud Marketing Group will share its resources and data within the fields of influencer and content marketing in Asia. Meanwhile, DSTNCT will provide insights and creativity by leading integrated marketing and social.

In a statement, the influencer agency said that this marks as a new phase of growth for Gushcloud Marketing Group as the addition of DSTNCT signals a commitment towards building a holistic marketing ecosystem. It added that this will allow brands to further optimise the use of influencers and content creators.

Prior to the merger, DSTNCT has worked with clients such as National Youth Council for the SHINE Festival, AIA Singapore, Capitaland Malls, National Arts Council for Singapore Art Week, Grab Singapore, Riot Games (Hyperplay) and Ngee Ann Polytechnic.

Ng Siang Hang, CEO, Gushcloud Marketing Group said that the team has been on the lookout to acquire and merge with multiple creative and advertising agencies.

“When we looked at DSTNCT, we believe in the effective strategies and creativity that the team has implemented for her clients within the region. By bringing DSTNCT into the group, this signals an important step for Gushcloud within the influencer marketing industry; that we remain committed to provide deeply integrated and more effective solutions for the brands and clients we work with,” he added.

Meanwhile, Matthew Zeng, managing director of DSTNCT said that the next aim for the team is to work closely with the group and leverage upon Gushcloud’s presence in its nine offices across Asia. This is also in a bid to spearhead the relevance to brands within Asia.

“The landscape is ever-changing and the ones who can create effective work are the ones who can provide both relevance and influence. I’m happy to say that DSTNCT and Gushcloud are very much aligned on that and we are now able to provide our clients a seamless integrated offering, with a robust network and a wealth of resources to tap on,” he added.

This comes as the first acquisition for Gushcloud Marketing Group since the reorganisation of Gushcloud International in 2017. Last year, co-founders of Gushcloud International, Althea Lim and Vincent Ha regained control of the company from Yello Digital Marketing Global (YDMG). This includes the full 62% buy back that Yello Digital Marketing Global previously held within Gushcloud International at an agreed price of US$8.2 million.
