Groupon names Catherine So as new MD

Groupon has appointed Catherine So as managing director of Hong Kong.

“Catherine brings with her a track record of success as both a regional and a global business leader,” said Chen Chow Yeoh, regional operations director, Groupon Asia Pacific.

“Groupon recently celebrated four years of operations in Hong Kong, and I’m confident Catherine is the ideal person to take the business to the next level. She is sure to provide leadership to an already high performing team there.”

Prior to iProperty, So was deputy general manager, strategic planning and business development at TOM Group, where she led business development initiatives across Hong Kong, Taiwan and China.

She also held various senior positions at News Corporation’s Star TV, including Vice President of Distribution and Digital Sales.
