Grey Group Malaysia names new creative director

Grey Group Malaysia has promoted Heng Thang Wei (pictured) to the role of creative director. The promotion is in recognition of a continued string of successes on both new business and organic growth, the agency said in a statement.

In his new role, Heng will be heading a team responsible for clients including Telekom Malaysia, Coway, Oppo and Traveloka. Prior his appointment, Heng was the creative group head of Grey. He first joined the company in early 2015 as the art director. Prior to Grey, he also took on the role of art director at Leo Burnett KL.

Graham Drew, ECD, Grey Group Malaysia said that Heng is a huge asset to Grey and a major part of its success during his time here. “As well as having one of the best eyes for design I’ve ever come across, he’s a natural leader and somehow has an endless well of enthusiasm. But more than all of that, he really cares about the work and raises the game of everyone he works with,” Drew added.

“This promotion is a big step and the support and inspiration I get from the team here makes me excited about what lies ahead,” Heng said.
