Grab Malaysia has appointed essence Burson-Marsteller to manage PR duties, with the agency responsible for strengthening Grab's brand positioning as an everyday everything app across its external audiences. The appointment includes Grab's ride-sharing operations, food delivery services and payment services, and follows a pitch held in July 2019.
The agency’s main goal will be putting its focus on highlighting the potential positive contributions and impact Grab is making towards improving Malaysia’s economy, businesses and residents. CEO Felix Heinimann (pictured below) said leveraging its integrated PR and digital approach, it will lead all strategic communications counsel and planning, PR execution, media relations, and thought leadership initiatives for Grab in Malaysia.
"We were selected because of the creative ideas presented combined with a solid communications strategy and experience in working with notable clients within the tech and digital sphere such as Huawei, PROTON, SalamWeb and many more," he added.
