GoPro snaps up GO Communications as PR and comms partner

GoPro has appointed GO Communications to manage its PR and communications initiatives in Malaysia until 2021, following a pitch held in September.

The engagement took effect in the second half of 2020 and the agency has already promoted some of its newest products and initiatives, including the recent launch of the newly introduced GoPro HERO9Black.

The recent launch event, "A Hero's Welcome" brought together tech and action-footage aficionados, content creators, influencers and members of the media. To further promote the HERO9, GO Communications organised a three day two night trip to Desaru Coast, where selected influencers and members of the media had the opportunity to put HERO9 to the test.

Sangeet Singh, GoPro's Southeast Asia marketing manager, said having already worked with them on several initiatives in past years, GO Communications has shown itself to be "a formidable partner when it comes to PR and communications with unique out-of-the-box ideas" to effectively and efficiently reach GoPro's audiences.

CEO of GO Communications, Peter de Krester said it has truly enjoyed developing a strong working relationship with GoPro and are excited to engage with them again.

"This isn’t only because they are an impressive brand with truly innovative products, but GoPro’s unique offering and proposition also presents strategic opportunities to cross-pollinate and engage in collaborations with some of our other clients and partners, to develop campaigns and initiatives where the sum can be truly greater than its parts," he said.
