Google's Shahid Nizami named APAC managing director of HubSpot

HubSpot has appointed Shahid Nizami to the newly created role of managing director of the Asia Pacific region, where he will be responsible for HubSpot’s performance across Southeast Asia, Australia, New Zealand and India. Nizami (pictured) will be based in HubSpot’s Singapore office, working closely with the teams based in both Singapore and Sydney.Nizami previously led the account management business for Google Cloud in APAC. Before Google, he held several leadership positions at Oracle, including the role of director of Oracle Direct. He will be reporting to Jeetu Mahtani, senior vice president and managing director of international at HubSpotNizami said, “HubSpot is at a very exciting stage, especially here in APAC where growth is largely fuelled by SMBs. I am looking forward to working with the team in APAC and making HubSpot one of the best and most desired places to work in the region."“Nizami’s experience leading sales teams to drive new business, combined with his success in expanding an install base, is going to be key for HubSpot as we expand in APAC. We’re incredibly excited to welcome him to the team,” Mahtani said.HubSpot opened its Singapore office in April 2016, acting as the company's regional headquarters. HubSpot first entered Asia Pacific in 2014 in an effort to extend HubSpot’s global reach and make an impact with the many mid-market companies and data-driven marketing and sales professionals in the region looking for a more personalised and integrated way of doing business.
