Google Workspace unveiled with new functions and brand identity

Google Cloud has unveiled Google Workspace with new features to offer an integrated experience for users along with the new brand identity.
Rebranded from G Suite, which was originally launched in 2016, Google Workspace brings together messaging, meetings, docs and tasks in one single platform, all built with Google security and powered by Google's clean and energy-efficient cloud.
Integrating its core tools for communication and collaborations, Google Workspace has included a number of new features, such as revamped linked previews. Linked previews in Docs, Sheets, and Slides allow users to preview the content of a link without leaving the original document, enabling them to save time switching between apps and tabs.
Also, when an user mention someone in a document by adding "@", a pop-up will display details providing context and even suggest actions like sharing the document. By connecting users with relevant content and people in Docs, Sheets and Slides, Google Workspace can help users work more efficiently.
In the coming weeks, Google Workspace will enable users to create and collaborate on a document on Docs, Sheets, Slides with guests in a chat room, reducing complexity and ensuring all team members have visibility into relevant project work.
The last feature will be the rollout of a "Meet picture-in-picture" function in Docs, Sheets, and Slides, allowing users to have virtual conferences when creating documents on these platforms. amp;feature=emb_logo
"This is the end of the ‘office’ as we know it. Teams need to thrive without meeting in person, protect their time to focus on the most impactful work, and build human connection in new ways. Google Workspace gives people a familiar, fully integrated user experience that helps everyone succeed in this new reality - whether you’re in an office, working from home, on the frontlines, or engaging with customers," said Javier Soltero, vice president and general manager of Google Workspace.
Apart from the new features, Google has also unveiled a new brand identity to demonstrate its enhanced experience. In the following weeks, users will see new four-colour icons for Gmail, Drive, Calendar, Meet, and tools such as Docs, Sheets, and Slides.
