Gojek rolls out branded cars for first anniversary in Singapore

Gojek has launched a ‘Snap and win’ contest online for commuters to spot a Gojek-branded car on the streets and share a picture of it on Facebook and Instagram.  In line with its first anniversary in Singapore, the ride-hailing company has decorated selected cars with birthday stickers. By tagging ‘Gojek Singapore’ or its handle @gojeksg, participants will be in handpicked by the team to receive ride vouchers.

This comes as part of Gojek’s month-long series of initiatives, centred around its mission to bring choice to Singapore’s ride-hailing. Apart from this engagement effort, Gojek has also rolled out a social media contest “Would you rather?” that aims to build brand love among users. Commuters will have to caste their vote on trending topics on Gojek’s Facebook or Instagram pages, and also receive a slew of ride vouchers.

In a statement to Marketing, a Gojek spokesperson said these activations come as part of the company’s continuous efforts to deliver a “great and ever-evolving” experience to users. According to the spokesperson, GIFs are more appealing and captivating than images and videos respectively. In addition, the spokesperson said the car stickers allow the company to engage both driver-partners and customers in first-year celebrations, and bring joy to the streets.

“They enable us to showcase our fun and youthful brand personality,” the spokesperson added. The creative ideation and execution was conceptualised in-house.

Gojek recently unveiled its new visual identity, swapping the Ojek (bike taxis in Bahasa Indonesia) logomark for “Solv”, a nearly-rounded ring encircling a dot. As such, the ride-hailing company created a GIF to commemorate its first birthday, which is a play on its logo. The circle in the middle transforms into a birthday balloon labelled ‘1’, and according to the spokesperson, the changing colours of the birthday balloon and confetti add to the festivities.

Months back in May, Gojek recorded 10 million completed trips in Singapore, after six months of operations here. To mark its trip milestones, the ride-hailing company launched a rewards programme called “Driver Milestones” to thank its Singapore driver-partners for their support and service.

Lien Choong Luen, general manager of Gojek Singapore, said when Gojek entered the market here, its mission was to bring choice back to ride-hailing.

“We are humbled by the overwhelming response from Singapore commuters and drivers, many of whom have now made us an integral part of their daily lives. We hope that customers and driver-partners will celebrate along with us in November as we roll out fun initiatives and rewards to reward our loyal community.
