Initially launching the beta version of its app on iOS and Android app stores in Singapore late November last year, GOJEK has now extended its ride-hailing services to the whole of Singapore. In a statement to Marketing, a GOJEK spokesperson said that users will be able to use GOJEK to take rides anywhere in Singapore, which was previously only limited to a number of areas. Its island-wide rollout is part of its continued beta phase, as DBS/POSB Bank customers will continue to receive priority access to the app. This comes as the ride-hailing app partnered with the bank prior to the launch. "We continue to welcome feedback from driver-partners and riders during this enhanced beta phase, as we work to fine-tune the app and create the best experience for our users," she added. In addition, GOJEK has introduced dynamic pricing in a bid to ensure both supply and demand are balanced. It has said that this brings better waiting times for both the passengers and its drivers. It added that there might be slightly higher prices during times of high demand, but said that the team will work towards ride rates competitively priced. In an earlier statement, GOJEK had said that the launch of its beta version is said to mark the start of a gradual roll out of GO-JEK’s ride-hailing services across the island, as more driver-partners are onboarded over time to feed consumer demand. This staggered approach is also said to reflect GO-JEK’s commitment to ensuring a smooth entry into Singapore and an ongoing effort to improve user experience over time. Last year, the ride-hailing app appointed Havas Media to manage media buying duties, while BLKJ handles the creative duties. In addition, GOJEK also tapped Ogilvy Singapore as its PR and social communications partner. GOJEK has also brought onboard Archishman Ramasubramanian, as its VP-head of marketing in Singapore prior to its earlier launch.
