Globe, Khan Academy Philippines launch AI-powered education in GlobeOne app
share on
Globe has partnered with Khan Academy Philippines to bring digital learning closer to millions of Filipinos, embedding world-class educational content and an AI teaching assistant into the GlobeOne app. The collaboration underscores the telco’s push to support the country’s education reforms, particularly in school digitalisation, teacher empowerment, and equitable access to learning.
At the heart of the partnership is a digital skills programme that combines Globe’s nationwide reach with Khan Academy’s global content library. Students can now access lessons in STEM, digital literacy, online safety, and essential life skills through the app.
Meanwhile, teachers are supported by Khanmigo, an AI-powered assistant designed to reduce administrative work and free up time for greater learning impact. Khanmigo can respond in multiple Philippine languages, including Tagalog, Waray, Cebuano, Hiligaynon, and Ilocano.

“Education must evolve with the times. We use technology to make learning easier and more effective for both students and teachers,” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe chief sustainability and corporate communications officer. “By working with Khan Academy Philippines, we’re opening doors to leapfrog our students to 21st century learning. Using the GlobeOne app, the pedagogy is inclusive, relevant, and within reach.”
The initiative also features an employee volunteer programme, enabling Globe staff to engage with schools and communities on the use of Khan Academy resources.
“This is the future and digitisation is the way forward,” said Geraldine B. Acuña-Sunshine, president and CEO of Khan Academy Philippines. “We’re not just talking about physical classrooms anymore. We’re imagining classrooms with screens, smart tools, and open access to a world of knowledge. This is bayanihan in action. Every small contribution, every act of support, helps build something bigger than ourselves.”
Earlier this year, Globe, in collaboration with Khan Academy and Ayala Foundation, supplied tablets, Blue Boards, and Globe Fibre Prepaid WiFi to five schools under its G-Gantic Goals programme. Beneficiaries included CENTEX Manila in Tondo, Pasong Kawayan 2 West Elementary School in Cavite City, Lahug Elementary School in Cebu City, CENTEX Batangas in Bauan, and Pampanga High School in San Fernando City.
Education secretary Sonny Angara underscored the significance of the partnership: “We extend our deepest gratitude to our valued partners, Globe and Khan Academy Philippines, for championing our digital transformation journey. By bridging our learners and educators to digital tools, we’re not just easing the learning process, we’re empowering dreams and shaping their future.”
Globe and Khan Academy Philippines are now inviting students, teachers, parents, and school administrators to access Khan Academy through the platform or via the GlobeOne app.
