Marking 13 years of growth and community impact, FWD Group has announced a series of charitable grants designed to empower over 13,000 individuals across Asia.

Established in 2013 with a vision to transform the traditional life insurance landscape, FWD Group has expanded from its initial operations in Hong Kong, Macau, and Thailand into a leading pan-Asian life and health insurer spanning 10 markets, reaching a landmark corporate milestone last July with its official listing on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange under the stock code 1828.

Huynh Thanh Phong, group chief executive officer and executive director of FWD Group, said, "At FWD Group, changing the way people feel about insurance is about much more than looking after our customers – it’s also about supporting the communities where we operate. These 13 grants are a meaningful way to give back to the people and places that have been part of our journey. Together with trusted community partners, we hope to make a real difference in people’s lives, while also bringing our caring value to life through employee volunteering."

The 13 grants span key community pillars including financial literacy, career readiness, entrepreneurship, mental and physical wellbeing, and disaster recovery. In Hong Kong, the initiatives include partnering with Junior Achievement Hong Kong on the JA SparktheDream Wellness Programme to equip 2,600 primary school students with vital social, emotional, and financial resilience skills through interactive workshops and family activities.

Additionally, FWD is collaborating with Save the Children Hong Kong on a sports-driven initiative using football to build emotional strength and social resilience for 200 children and 80 caregivers affected by the Tai Po fire, while also funding Plan International Hong Kong to deliver long-term psychosocial support and community-building programmes for over 6,500 students, parents, and teachers navigating post-disaster recovery in the district.

Across Southeast and East Asia, the grants target a diverse range of local needs. In Cambodia, FWD is joining forces with JCI Mekong to train 200 young adults in practical money management through expert panels, interactive workshops, and digital learning modules.

In Indonesia, a partnership with KUMPUL on the InnovateHer Academy 4.0 will empower 10 female entrepreneurs through tailored mentorship, strategic business training, and investment readiness support. Meanwhile, in Japan, FWD is teaming up with Hands On Tokyo to host adaptive football clinics for visually impaired individuals, promoting social inclusion, active movement, and community connection.

Malaysia sees support for GivingHub to deliver health and financial literacy workshops to 170 low-income families, alongside 100 subsidised cancer screenings and consultations, while in the Philippines, FWD is working with Junior Achievement Philippines to guide 100 university students into the workforce through specialised training in personal finance, career readiness, and modern work skills.

Further reinforcing community ties in Singapore, FWD is funding a festive carnival hosted by Club Rainbow (Singapore) for 50 children with chronic illnesses and their caregivers, bringing families, caregivers, and volunteers together to foster a sense of inclusion and community spirit. In Thailand, the company is providing hospitality training scholarships through the Pimali Foundation to support career readiness for disadvantaged youth, alongside extending its partnership with Junior Achievement Thailand to train 30 educators with interactive tools to teach financial literacy.

Finally, in Vietnam, FWD is empowering 800 students through workshops and debate competitions organised by the Startup Vietnam Foundation and Dear Our Community to build critical thinking and money management skills, while also supplying 76 desktop computers through the Little Roses Foundation to schools in Khanh Hoa Province, enabling 1,800 students to resume digital learning following severe local flooding.
