Former Tune Talk chief marketing officer Bernard Chong has joined Visa as its new client consulting director, effective December 2025.

In a LinkedIn post announcing the move, Chong shared his enthusiasm for the role, noting that he has already seen first-hand how Visa is shaping the next era of commerce. “Payments are moving beyond transactions and becoming more embedded in everyday decisions,” he said. Chong added that he is looking forward to collaborating with partners and drawing on his experience in driving business growth and commercial outcomes.

When reached out to by A+M, Chong explained that his move back into the banking sector felt natural. “I’ve always enjoyed working at the intersection of growth and decision-making. After building and scaling consumer businesses, moving into a role that sits at the heart of commerce felt like a natural next chapter,” he said.

He added, "At Visa, I get to help banking partners step back and see the bigger picture, using the scale of Visa’s network and transaction-level insights. That perspective will help turn complex signals into clearer choices and more confident growth strategies.”

Chong most recently served as CMO of Tune Talk, a role he took on in September 2024. In July 2025, the telco appointed Jill Yeap as its new head of marketing, tapping her 15 years of experience in strategic brand building and consumer engagement across the fast-moving consumer goods sector. In her role, Yeap leads Tune Talk’s marketing team and reports directly to CEO Gurtaj Singh Padda. She is tasked with driving the brand’s creative direction, strengthening omnichannel engagement, and supporting the company’s transformation into a digital-first telco.

Prior to Tune Talk, Chong was country general manager for invisible braces and oral care brand Zenyum for about a year, focusing on market expansion, brand visibility, and operational efficiency. He also spent nearly three years at foodpanda Malaysia as marketing director, overseeing brand marketing, partnerships, and growth.

Earlier in his career, Chong was regional vice president of marketing for APAC at SEEK Asia from April 2017 to June 2020. His professional background also includes roles at Citi as head of cards portfolio management, Accenture as a management consulting manager, Fitch Ratings as associate director for structured finance, and HSBC as an actuarial manager.

In other recent people movements at end 2025, footwear retailer Bata has expanded the remit of its head of marketing for Malaysia, Iman Zulkifli, to also lead Singapore in a dual-market role. Iman, who was appointed Bata Malaysia’s head of marketing in July 2024, first joined the brand in 2022 as a regional marketing project manager for APAC. Officially stepping into her expanded role in November 2025, Iman now oversees brand, retail marketing, CRM, digital, social, visual merchandising, and customer service across both markets.

Separately, Maxis has appointed Andrew Yeoh as its new head of brand and marketing, with Yeoh officially starting in the role on Monday, 1 December. He was most recently the group head of marketing at TIME dotCom, a role which he spent over four years in. He wrapped up his stint at the telecommunications provider in June last year. A+M also learnt that he replaces Wong Tse San, who was the previous head of brand and marketing at Maxis.
