Former MSL Hong Kong’s general manager and APAC sector lead for consumer goods Terence Yam has founded a new agency, Pinocchio Communications. It will serve as the PR arm of TKS Partners, which has eight agencies in total.
Co-founding the agency are experienced marketer Vincent Tsui, advertising experts Ng Siu-hung and Hardy Lam – co-founders and senior management of Metta Communications – alongside Dick Chow and Nick Lee who previously founded post-production company, 18andahalf.
Pinocchio Communications will offer marketing strategies, creative and content marketing, media planning, eCommerce, artwork & video production, as well as packaging & corporate identity design to clients. Yam said such positioning “gives a rare luxury of flexibility and scalability to a PR agency for providing its clients with unbounded communication solutions that create the right influence to drive desired business results.”
Other than blending public relations with marketing consultancy, Pinocchio Communications have voiced an aim to introduce the idea of honest marketing into PR.
Clarifying this sentiment, Yam said, “We have to be honest to ourselves and clients as it’s a way to take on more social responsibilities. Our tagline ‘publicity with conscience’ means that marketers have a role to play in making our world a better place, by leveraging brands’ resources in creating a win-win situation that helps brands deliver their desired message and brings positivity to our community at the same time.”
