Digital agency SearchGuru has appointed SP Lee (pictured) to head and grow its creative capabilities in the region. He will be head of creative at the agency. Lee spent 16 years with Dentsu/DYR group, helming various roles such as CEO, ECD and writer, exiting the agency in 2016. He was also with Draft:FCB and Bates for six years each as ECD.Lee said that having mainly worked with individuals from the creative and media industries for several years, it is "refreshing" to be surrounded by "tech geeks who live on the left-hand side of their heads". He added that his appointment sees complementary skill sets coming together.“Like all industries, ours is changing at an ever greater pace, but fundamental to what we do has always revolved around media, creative and technology. So, keep your head wrapped around that and your eye around the corner,” Lee said.SearchGuru's founder Larry Lim said marketers today are a lot more savvy, results-focused and demand a "no-bullshit agency partner" that is progressive, agile and sophisticated, to come up with integrated strategies and demonstrate ROI.“We already have one of the biggest performance marketing teams in the region, a strong development team, and a training team comprising of experienced campaign managers to upskill the market. Lee will close that loop with his creative team," Lim said.Established in 2012, SearchGuru focuses on performance marketing and has a multi-national team of 80 staff members. It is present in five countries and works with clients including Grab, Hermo, Maxis, Mercedes and Fitness First.
